For nearly two years The Mean-Nothings was simply something to call a home recording project. Originally started at the turn of the
millennium by myself, David Hayes, and fellow musician Shawn Cozad, the songs were pieced together from poetry, prose, and ramblings. We were both involved in multiple music projects at the time and only recorded a handful of songs to distribute on cassette tape before splitting up. I decided to continue the project by proliferating on the songs I had written.

I eventually met up with local musician Arman Augusto and became involved in his band The Walking.

The Mean-Nothings opened their first show in San Diego at Caffiend's Lounge on June 28th, 2002 with The Urbanite Monologue, a one-act performance piece. After that we were invited to play July 28th 2002 at Lifestage (Sushi Gallery) and have since performed at art exhibitions, in theatres and music showcases alike.
